20 January, 2023, 11:00 – 12:30 CET / 10:00 – 11:30 GMT (Online)

This event is part of the development and promotion of the EU strategy for media literacy, which aims to tackle #disinformation, empower citizens to make informed choices, and protect democratic values and human rights.

Marco Delmastro, a social scientist supporting IRIS Academic’s infodemic #research pillar, will join a group of European panellists to discuss how the phenomena of mis- and #disinformation – with their potential to polarise public opinion, undermine democratic values, and reduce #trust in democratic processes – have become a real threat to European #democracy, European integration, and the well-being of European citizens.

The event is funded by the CERV Programme of the European Commission and is free to attend.
